Dutch Blitz

Description

Dutch Blitz is a fast-paced card game that’s all about speed, coordination, and quick thinking. Designed for 2–4 players (ages 8 and up), it’s a classic family and group game that has been popular for decades.

Players race to get rid of their cards by building piles in the center in numerical order and color sequence — all at the same time! There are no turns, so everyone plays simultaneously, making the game energetic and full of laughter.

You can even combine the Original Pack (green box) with the Expansion Pack (blue box) to play with up to 8 players.

🕹️ How to Play (Brief Overview)

1. Setup

   • Each player gets their own 40-card deck (in one of four colors).

   • You create three piles:

     • Blitz Pile – top five cards face up (your goal is to empty this pile).

     • Post Piles – three cards face up next to your Blitz pile.

     • Wood Pile – the rest of your deck for cycling through cards.

2. Gameplay

   • Everyone plays at the same time — no turns!

   • Build Dutch piles in the center of the table starting with 1 and stacking upward to 10, matching colors.

   • Use cards from your Blitz, Post, or Wood piles to build the shared center piles.

3. Scoring & Winning

   • When a player empties their Blitz pile, they yell “BLITZ!” and the round ends.

   • Players score points for each card played in the center piles, minus any remaining in their Blitz pile.

   • The first player to reach 75 points wins the game!
