Hellapagos: Big Box

Description

Hellapagos is a thrilling semi-cooperative survival board game designed by Laurence and Philippe Gamelin, published by Gigamic. The Big Box edition includes the original game plus the expansion that adds new event cards and items for even wilder adventures.

Designed for 3–12 players (ages 10 and up), Hellapagos is all about teamwork, bluffing, and betrayal. Players are stranded on a desert island after a shipwreck and must work together to survive — collecting food, water, and materials to build a raft.
But there’s a catch: resources are scarce, and when supplies run out… it’s every survivor for themselves.

🕹️ How to Play (Brief Overview)

1. Setup

   • Place the island board in the center.

   • Set up decks for bottle cards (found objects), storm cards, and resource tokens (food and water).

   • Each player starts with one food and one water token.

2. Gameplay
   Each round, players take turns choosing one action:

   • Fish 🎣 – Try to catch food.

   • Collect Water 💧 – Gather water (success depends on weather).

   • Gather Wood 🌴 – Needed to build the raft.

   • Search the Wreck ⚓ – Draw from the “bottle” deck for useful (or dangerous) items.

   After everyone takes their turn, the group must consume one food and one water per player.
   If there isn’t enough to go around, players vote someone off the island to save the rest!

3. Endgame

   • Players can only escape when the raft is fully built.

   • If enough supplies and spaces exist, survivors board the raft and win together.

   • If not… the remaining players must fight or betray others until the end.

4. Winning the Game

   • The game ends when either:

     • The raft successfully launches and some or all players escape, or

     • Everyone dies due to starvation, dehydration, or internal conflict!
